Congratulations to the Intermediate, grade 9, badminton team on a great performance yesterday at the unit final tournament at Morell High School. In Boys doubles, Seamus and Jackson finished 4th place overall, with a hotly contested game losing by a close score of 24-22 in overtime. Lennon and Reid finished at 0-2, but had some great rallies. In boy’s singles, Jackson Adam finished with a record of 0-2, losing two close games. In girl’s badminton, Milla and Kiersten finished in 5th place with a record of 3-2. Jorja and Winter had a record of 1-2, and Kayley and Abbie finished with a record of 0-2. The draw ended up pitting Kayley and Abbie against Jorja and Winter, then when Jorja and Winter won, Milla and Kiersten had to play them! They were enemies during the game, but besties after! Both teams demonstrated great sportsmanship and played their hearts out! Well done, team! Players of the tournament were Jackson Adam, and Kiersten Young. This completes the season for the grade 9 students.
